Review: The eyelash curling function really works, but only after applying mascara. I tried it without using any product, and it didn't work. In the first photo, I have mascara on both eyes, but I used the curler on one and not the other; you can see the difference. In the second photo, I used a traditional eyelash curler on the eye that only had mascara on it. The conclusion is that this device works just as well as a traditional eyelash curler, so I don't think it's necessary. The device is easy to use, but unfortunately, there aren't very clear instructions on how to use it. There was no information on how long to wait during use for the curl to be effective, and also on how long it would be safe to use, as it heats up. I left it on for about 5 seconds. There's no risk of burning your eyelid; you can get very close to the root because it's not as hot as a hair straightener.
